BIM Engineer
BIM Engineer - San Francisco Bay Area, CA (Remote)
Buildings IOT is looking for a BIM Engineer who is passionate about building technologies to help us lead diverse project teams through a cohesive BIM process and create standards and workflows that enable best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for creation and production work of 2D,3D and 4D shop drawings and BIM models using REVIT or other design software programs.\
- Work with Sales departments to develop BIM modeling for estimates and proposal submittals. Major Projects; attends weekly site meetings with BIM teams, prepares scope of work in model using REVIT. Leads project BIM effort as Coordinator. Complete production work, upload, resolves clashes, coordinate with project teams, oversee process to completion to ensure all drawings/model meets quality standards and contract documents.
- Prepares new or completes existing shop drawings; plans, elevations, sections, and construction details for purpose of Coordination/Owner/MEP submittal approval or final Installation drawings.
- Assist in content, family and detail library development as well as template file management.
- Develop model and shop drawings to generate schedules and takeoffs.
- Work closely with Project Managers and field team members in all aspects of Project Management through to installation.
- Reviews and interprets contract documents; architectural drawings, structural drawings, and specifications in preparation of engineering work.
- Coordinate and obtain exact product information from vendors/manufacturers to incorporate into Revit model.
- Provide or correct existing design drawings
- Administer and coordinate project development with third party engineering firms.
- Quality control of in-house and outsource engineering.
- Participate in Sales and Marketing process for design build work.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred, certified in the latest BIM modeling, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years REVIT experience in A/E firm or Construction trade.
- Experience in G.C. or subcontractor CDA process, model production.
- 2 Years Construction or relative field experience with understanding of general building systems such as HVAC, lighting & electrical.
- Training in Revit from a recognized educational institution
- Experience with Solidworks, Inventor, 3D Max, SketchUp, or other modeling applications is a plus.
- Experience in construction documents.
- Strong computer skills/technical skills.
- Strong written and articulate communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong Quality Control skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of REVIT families.
- Strong experience in organizing/scheduling.
- Effective in meeting deadlines and solving problems.
- Must be willing to travel to project locations throughout the United States
