Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Director of Sales (Northeast) is responsible for leading revenue growth for Buildings IOT commercial building software and services. He / She has existing relationships with multiple commercial real estate customers (owners, operations, occupiers, mechanical suppliers) within the territory. The Director is first and foremost a hunter, and second quite knowledgeable about how buildings operate with a keen understanding of building automation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and build sales relationships with major clients. 
  • Own major relationships from prospecting through sale and delivery of offerings.  
  • Plan and forecast sales revenue, deliver accurate forecasts, and manage their respective pipelines in HubSpot  
  • Drive sales activities for his / her region including account targeting, setting demonstrations, generating proposals, and closing new businesses 
  • Provide key voice of the customer inputs: including market intelligence, product and service feedback, partner input on products, and market trends  
  • Team player who is simultaneously part of our sales leadership while working on the ground alongside our front-line team  
  • Work with CCO to prioritize opportunities and develop go-to-market / market entry strategies  

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of sales experience and 8+ years of commercial buildings / controls experience  
  • Experience driving sales at a quickly - growing companies with a track record of delivering significant growth with SaaS solutions  
  • Ability to quickly form strong external and cross-functional relationships  
  • Bachelor's degree – preference in mechanical engineering or equivalent  
  • Experience in selling B2B software as a service solution – ideally in commercial buildings automation market segment (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, JCI, Honeywell, Tridium, Skyspark...) 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and integrity are necessary to be successful in this role
