Senior Project Sales Representative

THE OPPORTUNITY

OTI is currently seeking an energetic and self-motivated Senior Project Sales Representative with a proven track record of developing business opportunities and closing deals to grow our market presence in Southern California. In this newly created role, you will expand on the success of current and past projects in the area to develop new opportunities ranging from single building controls integrations to enterprise projects and managed services contracts. As you grow the market, you will be responsible for $2-3 million in project sales per year.

Your day-to-day focus will be to establish relationships with building owners, mechanical contractors and facility managers who are considering building controls retrofits, system integrations, new energy management strategies or ongoing IT/OT support. Additionally, you’ll research and establish relationships with government programs that may support cost-sharing on energy retrofit projects.

KEY ELEMENTS OF THIS ROLE

Under minimal supervision, the successful Senior Project Sales Rep will bring in new business for single building and enterprise portfolios in the Southern California region. Project focus will be on controls programming and installation, system-wide integrations, OT and IT network backbones, analytics, and energy dashboards.

Duties include:

  • Build a network of mechanical contractors, building owners and facility managers to develop opportunities and expand current customer base.

  • Attend industry meetings and set up one-on-one information sessions with prospects where you will give presentations about OTI and our unique value propositions.

  • Get familiar with current and past projects in the region to leverage that work to grow more opportunities.

  • Develop sales proposals and accurate estimates of project costs.

  • Provide input to others as required to assist in design, installation, start up and commissioning for projects.

  • Actively learn or expand knowledge of OT systems, IT best practices, energy management programs.

  • Work independently and as part of a distributed team.

  • Participate in sales meetings and consistently report progress to executive team.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • An undergraduate degree in Mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent job experience.

  • 5+ years sales experience selling medium to large building controls projects.

  • Proven track record of developing new business and closing deals.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

  • Familiarity with enterprise CRM like Salesforce, Netsuite and/or HubSpot a plus.
